You can reproduce just about any flavor, texture and color that you want using plants instead of dead animals. But just to be clear, this “vegan salmon” plate is just for laughs. It is intended not to duplicate the exact texture or flavor of a fish. It is intended to a silly side dish with our vegan sushi rolls. Papaya happens to have nearly the exact color of salmon. But its taste is quite different: better, in fact. And Papaya is much, much healthier, since it contains no cholesterol, no hormones, no mercury. You can eat these “fishies” entirely, eyeballs and all.
